We have currently contacted (4) traffic signal contractors that do all
of the traffic signal work for our paving subcontractors. All of the
traffic signal contractors have informed us that they will not be
bidding the project based on their current workload.
 
Can the Bid Date for the project be moved to 9/16/2008 so that we find a
traffic signal subcontractor that can meet the requirements of Spec
Section 34 41 16?
 
Spec Section 01 32 17 references some detailed and complex requirements
in regards to Network Analysis Schedule. Will these requirements be
applicable to the contact?
 
Spec Section 01 45 02, Paragraph 1.5.2.1 states that the contractor is
to provide a Commissioning Authority as the key person for Cx and
documentation thereof.
Please verify what commissioning requirements will be applicable to this
project?
 
Will the requirements of Spec Section 01 78 00, Paragraph 1.3 (Record
Drawings) be applicable to the contract?

ANSWER: The contractor should be able to contact T and H Electrical in Wilson NC
to get a quote for the signalization if he needs a source.  As to the
other questions, he should bid it as it is presented.  The commissioning
would be for the signalization and gates and the manufacturer's rep
should be the representative to be the commissioning authority.
